I have set up this blog so everybody that is interested in learning English will have another way to make it. This blog was created to be an open and free communication's channel where everybody is invited to take part, so we will learn English from each other. Every day I will post at least one word with its meaning and an instance using that word. You do not hesitate to collaborate, write your doubts down and make new uses or examples of each word. Thank you so much and let's learn English

To call a spade a spade: When something is so obvious that there is no doubt. This expression is so difficult to explain, so if somebody else have more ideas, PLEASE, share them with us. (In Spanish means: Llamar al pan, pan y al vino, vino).

  1. It also means to speak frankly about something. Example: I call a spade a spade; if I see someone being dishonest, I say it to them on their face.

It just means "it is what it is". don't try to call it something fancy or a playful nickname to make it sound better, just call it what it is.
